About Android

Android is Operating System developed on modifying Linux kernel. Earlier days it is intended for Mobile phones but now Android has started extending its wings. Android 3.0 is completely optimized for Tablet-Pc’s.

History of Android:

Android Inc.  was founded in 2003 in California of United States in October 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White . Late in 2005 Google has acquired Android Inc with the idea of entry into Smartphone space.

Aim:

To create a new and Competitive eco system and to beat all existing mobile operating systems like,       

             Apple-i OS ,

             Research In Motion ‘s – Blackberry OS

             Nokia’s – Symbian OS

             Microsoft’s – Windows Mobile

             Mobile Linux - Maemo 

            Open source Linux – MeeGo

            Samsung’s – Bada OS
